If the leader has the mindset of servant leadership it can only be shown through their actions. The actions of a leader will show others if they truly are servant leaders. Servant leaders,
Are the first to serve.
Add value to others.
Put others first.
Always serve.
Do small acts of kindness.
Humble themselves.
Don't expect to be rewarded for serving.
Don't serve for recognition.
Serve followers, peers, and supervisors.
Having the mid set of servant leadership can be easier than having the actions of servant leadership. The reason for that is the leader has to go from speaking or thinking about serving to doing. We can think about serving all day long but true servant leadership is about acting on those thoughts. That's why leaders must move from thinking to acting.
There are many reasons a leader does not move from the thinking to the action stage. Here are some things that will stop a leader from serving,
Pride and insecurity
Title minded
Bad attitude
Self focus or "Me" attitude
Victim mindset or the "world owes me".
If you find yourself falling into one of these traps focus on having the mindset of a servant leader and start doing small acts of kindness. I believe the greatest leaders have the actions of servant leadership. Leaders who have the mindset and actions of a servant leader will reap many rewards as a leader.
